Cryptid Discovery: Prova e Dubbio (Book 2)
About
The contents of the Library, the name applied to the collection discovered in Tucson, Arizona, have now been moved to the DataLab processing facility in Portland, Oregon. A cursory examination of the cache reveals that there are no Mafia books and records for the FBI to uncover a national criminal enterprise. Instead, there is only a fantastic history and tale of an undiscovered race that is seemingly evidenced by of hundreds of thousands of books, manuscripts, documents and written records. Though the historical record is long, well over a span of several thousand years, is still not proof of anything to the skeptical computer mind of Dr. Adam St. James.
It is, however, to his father noted forensic archeologist Dr. Edward St. James, and to others around him, including Adam’s own family. Edward begins to slowly assemble his teams of experts from within the family and among those close friends to prepare to search for the truth of the existence of Gens Collective, who and what they are, and what they are doing hidden as they are in plain sight among humankind.
Edward St. James fears the worst, and is certain of danger. He has only the barest of evidence as he doggedly pursues clues, one way or the other, to discover the truth of what is fact, and what is deception.
Adam meets a new love, Misti Alarcon, and finds her to be his yin to her yang. His former love, Hannah Parker, secretly joins the team, unknown to Adam. Hannah meets Vera Capri a wealthy socialite in Portland while there on assignment for Edward; love blossoms between them as the story twists and turns. Family history and conflicts, old wounds, are revealed as the family begins to settle in, happy in Barrows Bay. Adam’s anger and angst begins to heal aided by Misti as her own troubled past is revealed to Adam. The Gens Collective, however, headed by Paulo Fortizi and his insane brother Enzo, frantically deploy assassins to find Adam, his family, and his colleagues to kill them, and recover the Library.
New characters enter the story as Edward St. James ramps up those who will be allowed to participate in assessing the likelihood that the Gens, indeed, do exist. The plot rushes forward as the Gens Collective collides with a modern world of homo sapiens who have no idea that the Gens, as a species, even exists. The existence of the DL Main as a threat to the Gens is also explored as the Gens take drastic action to protect themselves and their secret world.
The Gens fear extinction at the hands of humanity and make the legal case against them.
The Gens are slowly revealed, though Edward and his team still cannot definitely, scientifically confirm who or what they are. Their documents in the Library are in a variety of ancient languages and encrypted to maintain secrecy. Little of the documentation is in English, but there is still enough to frighten Edward and his growing team.
Adam’s true nature begins to unfold as he meets his match in his new love, Misti. Her history of entanglement with Edward is also revealed.
They live among us.
The journey is fantastic, the discovery, if true, immense. But will Adam and his eclectic family survive discovery? Will humanity?
Murder, intrigue, deception, treachery, lust and betrayal all come together in the Cryptid Trilogy as mankind faces off against an unknown species bent on its total destruction as the dominant species on the planet.
Adam continues to develop his amazing natural abilities as he seeks to understand and control them. How will this saga end?
